Ministry
The English language continues to be significant in social and economic development in today’s world. Teaching English as a Foreign Language (EFL) has been an effective tool for evangelism ever since GEM missionaries began using it more than 10 years ago. Since 1995, more than 200 North Americans have served on teams in 20 countries.
Why Teaching English is Effective?
- Quality language acquisition methodology is utilized.
- Students enjoy a fun, interesting learning environment.
- Teachers exemplify Christ’s love.
- Students are highly motivated, knowing that English is important for education and better job opportunities.
- EFL promotes cooperation between national churches and communities.
- In countries where Biblical content is permitted, teachers share stories about their faith, reading lessons use the Gospel of John or Mark, students are invited to church and social events and are given tracts or Bibles in their own language.
